MSc Psychodynamic Therapeutic Counselling, MBACP
Hello. My name is Sarah. I am a fully qualified counsellor and member of the BACP, with experience in many fields of work, including teaching & education, health & the NHS and charity work.
I have a special interest in helping those facing interpersonal & attachment issues, often originating in early childhood, anxiety disorders and BPD/EID/EUPD traits & diagnosis, due to having had personal experience with these issues. I am extremely patient and will encourage you to explore, at a manageable pace, the patterns that are no longer serving you well. I provide a safe and confidential space in which you can talk about and understand whatever is troubling you and together we can start to make sense of your distress.
I use effective psychotherapy methods with my clients to encourage personal insight and instil self-understanding. This compassionate and supportive self-reflection fosters new attitudes and feeling towards life situations.
It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or quick fix. Therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and therapist alike, and it can be challenging at times. But the willingness and ability to make small changes to self-defeating behaviour and finding ways to cope with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
