MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, MBACP
My name is Nadine and I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with a BACP accredited Masters from Birkbeck University in London.
It can be hard work deciding on a therapist, especially when there are loads to choose from. It could help to ask yourself – can I see myself opening up to them?
I have worked with adolescents and adults and I am experienced in working with mood problems like anxiety and depression. Also relationship problems; self-harm; dealing with a period of transition or massive change like graduating from university and entering the world of work or becoming a parent; understanding past traumas; and issues with identity, like our sexuality, colour and origins - how we see ourselves and a sense of belonging.
I work with honesty and warmth and my practice is hopeful but realistic. I work psychodynamically which means that I think that what has happened in the past is important and affects the way we live our lives right now. We can think about what has gone on before and link it to what's happening now, we can spot patterns and work out why certain things might feel the way they do.
In therapy you can use my mind to help explore what might be going on in yours and offer you an alternative perspective. It’s a rare dedicated slot to focus on only you. Somewhere that you won’t be judged or criticised. Somewhere you can feel safe.
In therapy we can work towards understanding you and your relationships better, making change and growth possible, resolving conflicts and helping you to feel more whole. So I encourage you to get stuck in and give it a go, and I hope to hear from you.
