Eating Disorders Support
Eating Disorders are a serious mental illness that take an unyielding hold over an individual’s life, both emotionally and physically. They can also deeply effect close friends and family who often face difficult and confusing emotions in response to seeing someone they love suffer around food.
Although some eating disorders can be strikingly obvious, others are not so, and it can be very difficult to feel deserving of help. An eating disorder can leave a person feeling very alone; often feeling they have to hide themselves and lie to those around them, in order to maintain the secrecy around behaviours that if exposed, would induce shame.
Whether you’re concerned about your own eating behaviour and feelings around food, or concerned for someone close to you, finding a space that is confidential and non-judgemental where you can talk about your experience, can help. It can reduce feelings of loneliness, help to make sense of what is going on, and offer you much needed support in finding a way forward.
